Saul Hay Gallery hosts very special Art Prize Exhibition
On 1st October 2024 we were honoured to host a very special art exhibition and awards presentation for the Independence Support (isl-org.uk) 2024 art competition.
The work of the shortlisted artists was displayed next to that of Saul Hay Gallery's artists giving the ISL artists an opportunity to see their work in a professional gallery context and, hopefully, inspire them to continue their art practice.
ISL offer support to people with a variety of different needs:
Mental Health, Substance Misuse, Learning disability and/or Autism/Asperger’s, Acquired Brain Injury, Physical Disability, Sensory Impairment and Older People.
"This project supported ISL clients with their goals, confidence and creative spirit, and to have their work in a prestigious gallery post competition was a really inspiring and profound moment for clients."

I appreciate how this post highlights the creativity and variety behind the art prize exhibition. The gallery setting and attention to different artistic approaches make the event feel thoughtfully presented. It also reminded me how important presentation and curation are when introducing creative work, much like choosing the best book publishers for new authors. What artwork or detail stood out most to you?
I loved reading about the Art Prize Exhibition! How do you select the pieces shown? I'm always amazed at how creative expression parallels games like quordle, where every word can tell a new story.
