About the Artist
My printmaking is made up of two distinct methods - drypoint and monotype. I chose drypoint as it is one of the most direct, and the closest to the act of drawing, something that is essential to all my work. Whilst monotype again has a directness to it, but is also a link to my drawing and painting. With both methods I am not trying to act as a human camera, but to capture those ever so fleeting moments... almost the essence of each animal, whilst always wanting to keep the image as fresh as possible. One of the great delights of printmaking is the magical moment of peeling back the paper to see the image. Some disappoint, whilst some unexpectedly amaze, but hopefully all have a sense of joy
