About the Artist

 

Jen Orpin graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University in 1996 with a degree in Fine Art. She joined Rogue Artist Studios, Manchester in 2000 and has been painting from her studio there ever since.

 

As well as exhibiting in various galleries, selling her paintings nationally and internationally, her work has been accepted into several Open Art exhibitions. She made the long list for the Jackson’s Open Painting Prize 2018, has been a prize winner and has received several commendations. 2018 also saw her appear in Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year where the judges chose her in their top three for the heat.

 

Her paintings have also featured in the last three series of the BBC1 drama, Last Tango in Halifax, Ackley Bridge and Russell T. Davies’ Queer as Folk.

Jen is a contemporary figurative landscape painter who predominately paints with oils on canvas, board and wood.

She is currently represented by Saul Hay Fine Art Manchester and has work with Elastic Space Art Consultants.
